ORGANISERS
South Asia Forum for Art & Creative Heritage (SAFACH), New Delhi is the founder and organizer of the Indus Valley International Film Festival. Indus Valley International Film Festival is a re-occurring event held at various venues. The event is supported by several Government, Non-Government and Film Industry organizations.
OBJECTIVES
IVIFF is an International Film Festival. The concept of this artful event grew from the idea that Cinema & Art in South Asia are inter-connected, and they get nurtured from each other in sensibility & craft. Cinema and Art have the power to bring peace & harmony and envisage for a more compassionate world around us. The spirit of the Festival is the one of discovery which strives to turn a catalyst for the development of the Cinematic art globally, particularly through its market segments, IVIFF Film Bazaar, Seminars, Master Classes, Panel Discussions etc.
RULES & REGULATIONS
The submission of films for selection of the Final Programme shall be made only in accordance with the rules set out in the Indus Valley International Film Festival Regulations as well as the Pre-Selection Conditions.

DEADLINE
The deadline to submit all formats of the film is 31st January 2021 11:59 PM.
ELIGIBILITY
The films should have been completed after 31st December 2015.
DATES
The 3rd Edition of Indus Valley International Film Festival will take place Online from 19th to 27th February 2021.
AWARDS
The Board of Selectors chooses and invites films to be presented in Indus Valley International Film Festival's Competitive sections, as well as in several non-competitive ones.
Submission is open to films produced & made after 31st December 2015 are eligible for the festival, exclusively for the following programmes:
- Competition - Feature Films only
- Competition - Short Fiction Films only
- Competition - Documentary Films only
- Submissions for films will be accepted only if they fit the profiles of sections listed above. Other films are by Invitation only.
- Festival screening format will be intimated later.
SELECTION GUIDELINES
RULE 1
Once the film has been selected and the Invitation to participate at the Festival is accepted, the film cannot be withdrawn from the Festival Programme. Any withdrawal of film post selection and communication of the same to the Entrant shall be liable to pay damages to the Festival.
RULE 2
All films must be presented in their original language and, where this language is other than English, the screening format of the film must be subtitled in English (if not otherwise specified). Subtitling expenses are to be met by the Participant.
At its discretion, the Festival will be free to electronically project subtitles in Hindi language along with English subtitles below the film on a different screen. The production and presentation of local language electronic subtitles is the responsibility of the Festival.
RULE 3
All film entries for Competitive sections – International Competition for feature films, International Competition for Short films, International Competitions for Documentary films and Indian competition for feature films must be submitted to the Festival for selection by January 31, 2021.
The decision of the Festival with regard to selection/rejection of a film shall be final and no communication whatsoever in this regard shall be entertained. If we donot find any suitable entry for any particular category of award, we may withheld that category, and no award would be announced for any such category.
The Jury, further, may decide new category of Awards, if they find a film suitable for the same.
RULE 4
All submissions must contain the following:
- A duly completed online/offline Entry Form
- Uploaded/couriered screener of the film or Vimeo/YouTube link with password valid till March 31, 2021 or a DVD/Blue Ray (if the film's original language is other than English, the Festival requires receiving on-screen English subtitles).
- Submissions can also be sent by mail, containing a copy of duly completed Entry Form and the screener DVD/Blue Ray (All Region), labelled with the film's title, director's name, and language of subtitles. Submissions must be sent fully pre-paid to the address as indicated on the Entry Form plus specifying the Festival programme that you are applying for. The Festival reserves the right to refuse any shipment entailing additional costs.
4a. For films selected to be screened at the Festival, these materials must also be sent by email only:
- Photograph of the director (soft copy)
- Director’s biography and filmography (word file)
- Director’s biography and filmography (word file)
- One or more stills from the film (Jpeg high resolution files)
- Dialogue or Spotting Sheet/List in English (SRT Files by email)
- Film Clips / Trailer (Links or DVDs or Blue Rays)
- Poster of the film (Jpeg/pdf,soft copy) only
- CBFC certification, if available (for Indian films only)
4b. Additionally, for films selected to be screened in competition programmes:
- Photos of the leading actor/ actress (Jpeg high resolution files only)
- Leading actor/ actress biography and filmography (word files only)
- List of cast and crew members attending the Festival (word files only)
None of the above listed required materials will be returned.
RULE 5
The Festival may use all materials cited in Article 6 for promotional purposes and to compile the Festival Catalogue (web and printed copies both). The Festival bears no responsibility for published inaccuracies originating in submitted materials.
RULE 6
During the Festival, selected films will be available in the Digital Video Library, open exclusively to designated Film Bazaar professionals and journalists.
By accepting to be part of the Festival, Participants grant permission for their film to be included in the Video Library unless other arrangements have been made with the Festival.
RULE 7
- All prints of selected films must arrive in New Delhi by February 15, 2021 and must be made available for the entire festival period, unless otherwise agreed. It is obligatory for the Participant to follow the Festival's shipping instructions (to be sent to film producer, director or another film representative along with the letter of acceptance of the film).
- The Festival will cover one-way shipping costs for all selected films, unless otherwise agreed. The Festival will be responsible for customs clearance in New Delhi, India.
- All prints will be returned within four weeks following the Festival’s closing date. As far as possible, the Festival will respect the wishes of Participants concerning return shipment of their film. Where print is to be returned to an address different to that of the sender, this must to be clearly noted along with the desired date of arrival at the return address.
- The insurance of film print goes into effect the moment the film is received by DHL or another courier agent in New Delhi. The insurance remains in effect until the film is re-shipped. Unless otherwise arranged, in the event of damage or loss of the screening copy during the Festival, the Festival is only responsible for the cost of producing a new screening copy based on current standard laboratory rates.
- Damage to the film print must be reported to the Festival in writing within one month following the return of the print and prior to the film's next screening. Any claims will be judged by the reported state of the print.
RULE 8
The Jury for all Competitive sections will be comprised of prominent representatives of culture, film theory, criticism as well as filmmakers and producers. Total 4 jury will be appointed as under:
- Competition - Feature Films
- Competition - Short Films
- Competition - Documentary Films
THE AWARDS:
The following are the awards at the Festival. Additionally, the Festival delegates will vote for the Viewers’ Choice Awards and designated Accredited Film Critics for ‘Critics Choice Awards’ in all the above-mentioned competitive sections.
Members of the Competitive sections of the Film Juries may recommend the following Awards:

- IVIFF Gold - Best Playback - Male
- IVIFF Gold - Best Playback - Female
- IVIFF Critics’ Choice Award - Best Film
- IVIFF Viewers’ Choice Award - Best Film
Indus Valley International Film Festival holds the right to provide additional partner awards.
RULE 9
Award winners are expected to attend the Festival Closing Ceremony. Award winners are obliged to mention the award as announced, nationally as well as internationally, in all publicity and promotional material and attend the ceremony in person and not by representation.
RULE 10
The invitation sent for each film in Competition sections selected by the Festival must remain strictly confidential between the Festival Management and the Participant until the Festival decides to make an official announcement in this regard.
RULE 11
Participation in the Indus Valley International Film Festival implies acceptance of all regulations and pre-selection conditions. The Chairman, Indus Valley International Film Festival has the power to settle all issue not covered by the present Rules and Regulations.
RULE 12
The last date for receiving entries is 31st January, 2021, 11:59 PM IST.
PRE-SELECTION CONDITIONS
RULE 1
- Films must have been produced after 31 December 2015.
- Films that have neither been presented in television nor in the Internet / VOD. (Only for Feature Films)
- All Feature length Films (Fiction or Documentary) must exceed 60 minutes in length.
- All Short films (Fiction or Documentary) should be within 60 Minutes in length.
